Spring Cleaning: It’s that time of year again, Vancouver! The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the days are getting warmer, brighter, and longer. With all that added sunlight shining in, it’s hard to ignore the beating our homes go through during wet Vancouver winters. Rainy weather outside makes it easy to track unwanted dirt and mud into your home, and when it’s dreary all the time it’s tough to get the drive to deep clean. But now that all this sunshine and beautiful weather is upon us, it’s time to get into some Spring cleaning! Whether you’re a spring cleaning veteran in search of some new ideas or if you’re a newbie not sure where to start we’ve got some Spring Cleaning tips you’re sure to love!

Find A Checklist

There are a myriad of Spring cleaning checklists out there, find a few and use them to make your own list. Having multiple lists to reference will give you a variety of cleaning tasks to choose from. This will give you a chance to assess what needs to be done in your own home. Since you don’t have to make your own checklist from scratch, you’ll save time and end up with more time to clean!

Go Room By Room

It can be really daunting to start a spring cleaning checklist. Looking at the mountain of tasks in front of you can be incredibly overwhelming. So, break it down room by room – divide and conquer. It’s really rewarding to see your efforts paying off quickly and when you work room by room you can feel accomplished throughout the day. This also keeps you motivated along the way and prevents you from turning your entire house upside down and then realizing it’s time to cook dinner.

Get Into New Habits

Once you have your checklist and you’ve divided up your task into rooms, you can start cleaning! But instead of carving out 2 days of pure torturous cleaning that leave you burnt out and cowering at the sight of your dustpan, plan to do the cleaning over a 2 week period. Work for fifteen to thirty minutes each day, going room by room, checking things off your list. You’ll accomplish more when you’re tackling your tasks with a fresh body and mind and you’ll create great habits moving forward that will help keep your home looking dazzling.

Clear the Clutter

Start your spring cleaning with four boxes, label each: Put Away, Store, Donate, and Trash. As you make your way room to room, assess each item in the room and decide if it needs to be put in a box. At the end of each cleaning session, return the Put Away items to their proper homes. As the boxes for Donate, Store, and Trash fill up, act accordingly and at the end of your spring cleaning your home will be entirely decluttered.

Top To Bottom

When you’re cleaning each space, be sure to start cleaning items that are higher in the room as you will inevitably knock some dust down while you’re cleaning. Start by dusting the upper corners of the room, shaking out or washing the curtains, cleaning any windows or picture frames and then the surfaces of any tables or bookcases. Work your way from top to bottom to ensure you won’t have to clean anything twice. Once you’ve finished decluttering and cleaning all the upper areas of the house, it’s time to clean the carpets. Call Dazzle CC and let a professional take some of the work off your hands. After all that spring cleaning, you deserve it! • Very impressed and pleased with the dazzle service that was recommended to me by my in laws. From the start (initial contact, follow-up, service)...I would give it two thumbs up! Look no further for carpet cleaning. My carpet cleaner was Aiden and he was terrific.

  • Aiden was on time, polite, and very professional. Our kid drew on the carpet and spilled milk on it which we all thought wasn’t gonna go away, but Aiden made it look new. Would totally recommend

  • Aiden professionally cleaned a couple of our large area rugs and our sofa. He was very nice, very professional, and did a great job! The most important thing to me was to use a company that used cleaning products safe for my baby and my two dogs, and that’s what this company uses. Not only that, but they’re eco-friendly. I was thinking there would still be some lingering smell from the cleaning solution, but I didn’t smell anything at all which made me feel confident my baby and pets wouldn’t be breathing anything toxic as promised. We will definitely be using Dazzle again 🙂

  • I had the Dazzle come in to have our carpet cleaned prior to the arrival of our newborn. It was a very last minute decision and initially, I was hesitant about cleaning the carpet as I remembered it would usually leave a strong chemical smell and I had to ventilate the whole house for at least a couple days. We are a family of two young toddlers and a newborn on the way and I was not sure if I wanted to risk having the wet and chemical soaked carpet only a couple weeks before my due date. But I realized I worried for nothing. I was able to get an appointment promptly and get the work done in a matter of a few days. Rob and his assistant did a fantastic job! There was absolutely no need for me to worry about the smell or ventilation as there was none and the carpet were spotlessly clean. They convinced me that I could have a clean, if not cleaner, carpet without having to use strong chemical filled products. I would highly recommend to anybody but especially, for families with young children like ours who can appreciate their plant based products that are safer to little ones. All in all, I am 120% satisfied with their work and would love to have them come back to clean our carpet in the future again!

  • Dazzle was one of the few places I called looking to have my sofa cleaned. In the end, I chose this company simply because the person over the phone was polite and professional. Aiden was the technician that arrived at my home, and not only did he get the nasty stains out of my sofa, but he gave me cleaning related knowledge that I was unaware of. He was also super kind, polite, and professional. I’ll definitely be sticking with Dazzle for future services!

  • I used Dazzle Carpet Cleaning for the first time this week and am super impressed with the service and quality of work. After my previous carpet cleaner retired, I found Dazzle by searching carpet cleaners on the internet. I feel lucky to have found such a fantastic company first try. Kiera is very organized setting up the appointment and reminders and making sure I knew when the technician was arriving. Rob and his assistant cleaned the carpets. Rob is a very informed and talented professional. He ensured an excellent clean of my carpets and care of my walls and corners. I am very impressed and will call Dazzle in the future. I am also happy to support a small, local business.
