Carpet cleaning in Mount Pleasant: walk-ups, character houses and new condos
Mount Pleasant packs every kind of Vancouver home into a few blocks. Three-storey walk-ups off Main and Kingsway, character houses split into suites on the side streets, and newer condos around Main and Broadway and along Kingsway. Each one cleans a little differently, but the price works the same way. Here’s what to expect.
Walk-ups
Most walk-ups have carpet in the bedrooms and sometimes the living room. Our truck-mounted unit stays on the street and the hose runs up the stairs and in through your door, so the noise and the heat stay outside. Third-floor units are fine. Tell us the unit number and whether the front door locks behind us, and leave the building door propped for the setup if your strata allows it.
Character houses and suites
The older houses between Main and Fraser often have a wool stair runner, carpeted bedrooms upstairs and a suite below. Wool gets a wool-safe clean at the right temperature, and we test a hidden spot first. Stairs and runners are one area each. Newer condos
Condos near Main and Broadway and along Kingsway usually have carpet only in the bedrooms. Book the elevator for the morning and tell us the building. If hoses aren’t allowed through the lobby, we bring a portable unit.
What it costs
Carpet is $90 an area before the current promo, plus GST. An area is a room up to 150 sq ft, a hallway or a set of stairs. The minimum is $210, which covers up to 3 areas.

The current promo comes off jobs above the minimum. Couches are $90 a seat and rugs are $90 or $65, all on the same visit.
Parking
Street parking on the side streets is usually easy mid-morning. On the busier blocks near Main, tell us about the lane or a loading spot. The hose reaches a long way, so we rarely need to be right at the door.
Drying
Most carpet is dry in 3 to 6 hours. In a walk-up, open the windows and run the bathroom fan. In a character house, turn the heat up a couple of degrees.
