What does rug cleaning cost in North Vancouver? Prices by size
Area rugs on the North Shore do a lot of work. A runner by the door in Lynn Valley catches trail mud from October to April. The big rug in a Lonsdale condo living room is where the dog dries off. A wool rug in an Edgemont or Deep Cove home might be the nicest thing in the room. So before booking, most people want to know one thing: what will it cost? Here’s how our rug prices work in North Vancouver, with real numbers.
Our rug prices
Rugs are priced by size, plus GST:
| Rug | Price |
|---|---|
| About 10×8 or bigger | $90 |
| Smaller than 10×8 | $65 |
Wool and synthetic rugs are the same price. The clean happens in your home, so there’s no pick-up or delivery charge and you’re not without the rug for a week. The seasonal promo comes off jobs above our $210 minimum, and GST is added after.
Which price is your rug?
Measure in feet, not counting the fringe:
- Entry mats, bath mats, 3×5s: $65.
- 4×6, 5×8 and hallway runners: $65.
- 8×10: $90 (an 8×10 is the same as a 10×8).
- 9×12, 10×14 and up: $90.
If your rug is round, oval or an unusual size, send the measurements with your photos and we’ll confirm the price.

The rugs that need it most on the North Shore
On the North Shore, rugs near the door take the worst of the wet season. Fine silt from trails and wet paws settles deep in the pile, where it wears the fibres from underneath and dulls the colour. A rug can look fine on top and still be holding a lot of grit.
The rugs worth cleaning first:
- Entry runners and mud-room mats. Small and cheap to clean, and they stop dirt reaching the rest of the house.
- The rug where the dog sleeps or dries off. Pet areas get pre-treated before the main clean.
- Living-room rugs under the coffee table. Spills, crumbs and foot traffic, all in one spot.
A yearly clean suits most rugs. Entry rugs and rugs in pet homes often do better twice a year, once the rainy season is well under way and again in spring.
What’s included in the price
Every rug gets the same clean, whatever it costs:
- a fibre, dye and tag check,
- a colour-bleed test on rugs with strong reds or dark borders,
- pre-treatment for traffic paths, spots and pet areas,
- a wool-safe clean for wool, or hot water extraction for synthetics,
- fringe cleaning and grooming, so the pile dries evenly,
- and a walkthrough with you before we leave. If something isn’t right, we fix it.
We use plant-based, pet-safe solutions on request, and everything is rinsed out, so nothing sticky is left behind to attract dirt.
What to send when you book
We ask for a photo of the rug and a photo of its tag. The tag tells us the fibre, and the fibre decides how the rug is cleaned. If there’s no tag or the fibre is unknown, you’ll sign a short waiver before we start, which is normal for rugs and upholstery.
Hand-knotted, silk and antique rugs get a closer look first. If one needs specialist off-site washing, we’ll tell you honestly rather than risk it.
Before the cleaner arrives: a safe tip for muddy rugs
If a rug has fresh mud on it, let the mud dry fully, break it up gently and vacuum it out. Then blot any mark with a white cloth and cool water. Don’t scrub, and don’t reach for solvents or strong spot removers, especially on wool. Test anything on a hidden corner first. What’s left is easier to lift in the professional clean.

Common questions
Is there an extra charge for wool rugs? No. Wool and synthetic rugs are the same price. Wool just gets a wool-safe clean.
Do you go to Deep Cove and West Vancouver? Yes. We clean across the City and District of North Vancouver, including Deep Cove, Lynn Valley and Edgemont, and in West Vancouver too. Wall-to-wall carpet can go on the same visit: see North Vancouver carpet cleaning.
How long does a rug take to dry? Most are dry the same day. Thin rugs and flat-weaves dry fastest, and thick wool piles take the longest.
