Carpet cleaning in Brentwood: a guide for Burnaby tower and townhouse owners
Brentwood has changed fast. The towers around Brentwood Town Centre and along Lougheed Highway are mostly new, with carpet in the bedrooms and hard floors everywhere else, while the streets north toward Burnaby Heights still have older houses and townhouses with carpet on the stairs and upstairs. Both need cleaning, and the building side is different for each. Here’s how it works.
Brentwood towers
Book the elevator. Most Brentwood towers need a move or trades booking for the elevator. Book it for the morning and ask whether the building wants the pads up.
Hoses or a portable unit. Our truck-mounted unit stays in the van and the hose runs to your unit, which is the strongest clean. Many newer towers don’t allow hoses through the lobby, so we bring a portable unit instead. Tell us the building when you book.
Parking. Visitor parking, a loading bay or the street: tell us what trades use, and give us the buzzer number.
New-build carpet. Carpet in newer units is usually a light, low-pile synthetic. It cleans up very well, but it shows traffic lanes from the door to the bedroom early. Pre-treating those lanes makes the biggest difference.
Older Brentwood houses and townhouses
North of Lougheed and toward the Heights, it’s driveways and street parking, so the truck-mounted unit can usually run straight in. Stairs, hallways and family rooms are the usual extras, and older carpet often has years of spills and pet spots to pre-treat.
What it costs
Carpet is $90 an area before the current promo, plus GST. An area is a room up to 150 sq ft, a hallway or a set of stairs. The minimum is $210, which covers up to 3 areas, and one area on its own is $150.

Drying in a tower
Most carpet is dry in 3 to 6 hours. Run the bathroom and kitchen fans, crack the balcony door, and keep the heat on. Newer units with good ventilation often dry in the shorter end of that range.
Moving in or out?

My carpet is only two years old. Does it need cleaning? If the traffic lanes look grey, yes. Many carpet warranties ask for a professional hot water extraction clean every 12 to 24 months, so check yours.
Do I need to be home? For a tower, someone usually needs to meet us at the door and the elevator. For an empty unit, a key with the concierge works.
