What the fluff?
If your couch is experiencing some sagging in the back cushions or if your throw pillows have gotten beat down one too many times, it may be time to fluff, restuff, or replace them. But before you spend money on stuffing or new pillows, learn the (not so delicate) art of pillow fluffing. The same way you rotate the tires on your care for even wear, you should be rotating your sofa cushions. As long as material on the back is the same as the front, you should be rotating your couch cushions once a week and while you’re rotating them give the crevices a quick vacuum too. If you’ve been neglecting your cushions, add it to your to do list – and start spring cleaning your upholstery. To fluff a pillow find the midpoint on each of the sides and hit that point hard a few times, do this on all four sides of the pillow. Next get to work on the front and the back, start at the middle of the cushion and work outwards hitting the pillow with your hand. Be sure to take and rings off before fluffing pillows, and if your hand gets tired you can use a tennis ball in a clean sock to hit the pillow with instead.
